We’re looking for a caring and dedicated Support Worker to assist a young adult with learning disabilities to live as independently as possible. This is a rewarding role that focuses on promoting life skills, encouraging confidence, and supporting the person to take an active role in their community.

You’ll provide one-to-one support both at home and when out and about — helping with daily routines, planning activities, and building confidence in decision-making. The individual enjoys social activities, music, and spending time outdoors, so someone who shares or can encourage these interests would be ideal.

Your work will involve supporting them to develop practical skills such as cooking, shopping, and travel training, while also promoting personal growth and wellbeing. You’ll play an important part in helping them achieve their goals and maintain meaningful relationships.

Experience in a similar role is preferred, particularly supporting people with learning disabilities or autism. However, what matters most is a positive attitude, patience, good communication skills, and a genuine commitment to helping others reach their potential.

This role also includes duties such as light housekeeping, meal preparation, and providing companionship. You may be required to run errands, such as shopping, and accompany the client to appointments as needed.
